Stylos is the blog of Jeff Riddle, a Reformed Baptist Pastor in North Garden, Virginia. The title "Stylos" is the Greek word for pillar. In 1 Timothy 3:15 Paul urges his readers to consider "how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar (stylos) and ground of the truth."

Logically, since these guys keep searching for the word of God, they don’t believe we have it. Additionally, I find folks like Mark Ward seem somewhat deficient in their theological capabilities. In his war on words, I’ve seen Mark show lots of “word nerd” mastery while, for example, totally missing that inspired New Testament commentary on an Old Testament passage throws a kink in his conclusion. Also, I wonder how those who make academia the “pillar and ground” of the truth interpret 1 Timothy 3:15?

Brother, I didn’t mean that previous comment to be anonymous, but I can’t seem to tell what I’m doing on this phone! R. L. Vaughn
